He has crossed the line yet again with a very offensive remark. He said it like it meant nothing but I felt really insulted by it. I’m not going to mention the content of what he said and I just want to highlight the point that what he said has crossed the line of tolerance and not for the fact that he is having a slight fever today, I would have totally flare up. Let me calm myself down and not get too furious during this Chinese New Year…

Looking Beyond The Surface…

I figured that this guy will spill the beans anyway since I didn’t specifically tell him to not speak a word to one particular person about it. Well, maybe I was a little too foolish to think that he is sensible enough to keep it to himself and not tell her about it. This her I’m referring to, is none other than our dear friend Ms. Thumb. As for the guy, I don’t think I need to state his name as the first sentence of this post alone would have already been enough to reveal his true identity.

Anyways, the knowledge of the matter that I’m fond of Ms. Thumb was conveyed by his truly to Ms. Thumb herself. I was prepared for the repercussions of my action of revealing the truth to his truly in the early part of last year and this episode serves as a lesson to myself to never trust anybody again. Initially, I had wanted to swear at him for what he did but I guess I decided to look at the brightest side of things. That is when I realised that the telling of the fact to her helped me see further into the future, reiterating my point made so long ago that I was right in staying put without actual pursues.

I did actually met Ms. Thumb recently at 313 Somerset and I felt the distance between the two of us. I didn’t understand it fully initially but for now, I’ve certainly gotten a clearer picture. The fact of my fondness for her was revealed to her some time in September last year by his truly and between that period till the coincidental meeting at 313, I’ve not talked to or text her. The distance I felt between her and me at 313 was so glaring and that serves to tell me that she wasn’t even remotely interested at all because if there was any interest, she would have talked a lot more, way lot more. So in this way, I would want to thank the guy instead of being all offensive against him. He may have myopic vision in a lot of things but he definitely helped me open up my eyes for this with his actions. I manage to look beyond the surface…

Birkenstocks Arrival!

The Birkenstock sandals that I’ve ordered a few days back has arrived! I’ll need to start calling my friends to inform them about arranging a day to meet up so that I can pass them the goods. I’ve also personally inspected all the goods to make sure that they all in order. Unfortunately, the pair I bought for myself is not of the colour that I wanted hence I will be sending it back to Germany for an exchange. I’m hoping that it will not take too much time for them to respond…

Dragon Day 2: Realisation

Every single year, it is during Chinese New Year that people realised how old they are when they look at the kids. The kids are no longer considered kids anymore and it is at that moment that one suddenly realised that he/she is old or at least not of a very young age. I myself wasn’t spared as well as I came to realise how old I’m when I saw my cousins, whom my impression of them has always been that of little kids, are all grown up, either entering junior colleges or taking the ‘O’ Levels this year. My uncle had the exact same feeling when he suddenly realise that my eldest brother is already in his 30s and I’m already 27 this year. How time flies for all of us…

Dragon Day 1: Laughter But Not Much Fun…

Every single year for probably at least the last seven years, Chinese New Year was kind of like a chore to myself. To me, it just means meeting relatives that I’ve not seen in ages, probably once a year or something. There are usually not many words exchanged and more often than not, conversations will just be limited to “Happy New Year!” with a big smile from the relative and me returning the exact same thing. In some exceptional cases, the relative will start asking about what I’m doing right now which usually, I’ll be really lazy to go into the details. I figured that telling a really short story is not better than telling the full details. When I go into details, the relative will stop me halfway and then stop talking, switching to topics like “what is on TV right now” or “you wanna have some Bak Kwa?”. It works every single time and that is my strategy every year to minimise talking in such awkward situations. I also know that without fail, they will forget what I told them this year and looking all stunned when I repeat what I told them today come next year. Well, never mind. This is in its own capacity, a vicious cycle that I may not be able to get out of anytime soon…

Annual Reunion Time!

It is that one time of the year where everybody will be home for dinner and almost everything else. For the first time in so long, the family was able to sit together for a lunch at home on a Sunday afternoon. How rare is that? My eldest brother was not working today and he went out to buy lunch for the whole family (minus my elder brother and his two sons) for the first time in as long as I can remember. Dinner was just as cool with the addition of my elder brother and his two sons, who provided much of the entertainment with their constant bickering the whole evening, making our place so rowdy, which is not usually the case all year round. It was nonetheless good time spend together for the whole family… Happy Chinese New Year everyone!

Order Completed!

The consolidated order for Birkenstock Sandals was finally completed just before the stroke of 12 midnight. I’ve to apologise to one of my friends whose order have pushed the order to beyond S$400 and that causes it to be subjected to a 7% GST charge at the Singapore Customs when the shipment arrives. To avoid that, I’ve decided to drop his order and instead pick a slightly more expensive sandals to push the total slightly above S$325, the amount that is required to hit in order to qualify for free shipping. Shipping cost a whopping $69 by the way hence it is definitely a must to qualify for free shipping, which was the whole point of this consolidated order. The order is expected to arrive in the next three to seven days…

The Order Will Be Completed In 24 Hours…

The consolidated order for Birkenstock Sandals will be placed in the next 24 hours with the confirmation of all orders. The main concern now is not to hit the amount of $400 in total for the order to avoid any charges that the Singapore Customs may impose for GST. The order took more than a week to confirm but nonetheless finally have all details confirmed now. Let’s hope the exchange rate will not fluctuate too much over the this time frame…

The Holiday Starts Early For CNY This Year…

With an off day enforced by the management at my office, I stayed home for the day except for a brief 2 hours when I went out to collect the package which the scumbag postman did not deliver yesterday. My dad was home the whole of yesterday so it is almost impossible that he’d miss it when the postman came knocking. The delivery advice for the delivery failure was found in my mailbox, instead of under the door of my flat. It was also addressed wrongly – my name is supposed to be written instead it was my address. The lady behind the counter at the post office had to ask me to whom is the package is addressed to. My conclusion of what happened was that the postman was lazy to walk up to my flat. Hence, he just left the delivery advice in my mailbox so that I can go to the post office to collect it myself. Last but not least, to finish off with the Birkenstock sandals consolidated purchase soon…

Second Package Arrives!

The order from ASOS is finally complete with the delivery today of part two of the shipment. It arrived on time, exactly on the 18th as promised in the order confirmation e-mail. With the arrival, it signals further overcrowding in my room to store all the new items. I’ve been logistically challenged for as long as I can remember and this have added to the woes. I’m not worried as I believe there is always a out for everything…
